EDIT Editor for Structured Products
Customers have become more cautious about investing in financial products, not least because of the current financial crisis, and there is a growing need for sound financial advice. Increasingly complex products, growing customer insecurity and the insufficient communication skills of many financial advisors have necessitated new concepts for optimizing financial consulting.
The SDFB has developed the EDIT project in cooperation with the University of Zurich and the Zurich University of the Arts. EDIT focuses on a collaborative consultation in the advisors office. The customer and advisor sit together at an interactive desk that has an integrated multi-touch screen. Real-time information can be displayed on its surface and adapted to customer needs and requests to support the consultation. With EDIT, the SDFB has also developed a concrete application based on the example of structured products. The software-based editor for structured products enables customers to design their own financial product without requiring knowledge of the underlying financial or mathematical models.
